I would like to be able to say that it was a brilliant idea that came in our sleep, and then we jotted down the idea immediately upon awakening in the journal that sits on the nightstand. NOT! I will tell you that it involved much angst, a little hilarity, a few arguments, and some imbibing...but, we think, the end result was worth it all. We won't go into some of the names we came up with along the way...some things are too painful (embarassing) to revisit. And some things are so good (embarassing) that Tracy and I keep it just amongst ourselves.
First, ELEMENT. One of the classes you have to take right off the bat when getting your Interior Design Degree is Interior Design Orientation. This course teaches you the elements and principles of design. Key word here being ELEMENT. They go a little something like this...
There are a total of seven elements of design...and we use them every single day of our existence. Ok, that might be exaggerating, we don't use them on the weekends. There are also six not to be overlooked principles of design...but PRINCIPLE360 just didn't rock our world.
Second, 360. There are several reasons why we chose 360. One...there's a 360 degree view to every room. Two...Tracy and I have each done a complete 180 from where we started. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a math prodigy...but last time I checked 180 x 2 = 360. Basically, we both started out wanting to do design when we graduated from high school, but life events changed that course until about five years ago when we first met. Three...the latitude of Tulsa is 36 degrees...360...how perfect is that?!
Third, a huntington/thomas studio. Surely that needs no explanation. But if it does...it's our last names.
Hopefully that helps answer the other burning question...'cuz we're busy dealing with elements of design. Not that we don't have time for a sit down to explain on a regular basis, but we don't...unless Smarties are involved. We also need to thank Angela Byers, of Byers Creative, for being patient with our creative process and helping to develop our most excellent logo. She rocks...check her out!
